BIO With a passion for critical thinking, problem solving, best practices and long-term strategy, it is my goal to become the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at a major corporation or government agency. Throughout my career, I have focused on and continue to improve my strategic and technological skills through education and experience. Throughout my career, my creativity in problem solving, self-motivation, communication skills and attention to detail have been recognized and created value for my employers. I graduated from The George Washington University Magna Cum Laude, in May 2006. In June of the same year, I joined SIGAL Construction Corporation as the Marketing Manager. Because of SIGAL's smaller size, the firm did not have a graphic designer or webmaster. The website was very outdated and most graphic designs were done by consultants or in Microsoft Office. I quickly stepped in to fill these roles, completing a scrap-and-redesign of the company website in early 2007. Shortly after being hired at SIGAL, the President and other senior executives were looking for an individual to take on responsibilities surrounding an emerging trend in construction, Green Building. Specifically the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) system. I volunteered, took the LEED Accredited Professional exam, passed and became the company's first LEED Coordinator in addition to my other responsibilities. Thereafter, I served in this new role facilitating the certification of several projects including SIGAL's new corporate office. In July of 2007, in recognition of my efforts in sustainability, I was promoted to Manager of Sustainable Construction (while maintaining some of my marketing duties). This new position included developing and implementing a sustainable program for SIGAL's LEED projects, being a regular part of those project teams, organizing LEED documentation with architects and subcontractors, and selling SIGAL's sustainable services to its clients. Around the same time, I also planned and oversaw the company's entire transition to new corporate colors. The transition included electonic media, clothing, promotional materials and items, etc. After two and a half years at SIGAL, I recognized that construction is not one of my passions and accepted a Program Management position within the Government Services division of Sapient, an international consulting and creative firm. I served at Sapient for one and a half years on major projects for the Department of Homeland Security, the US Marine Corps, the Department of Health and Human Services, as well as for internal projects. My hard work was recognized with the 2009 Rookie of the Year award for all of North America. At Sapient, I was able to greatly improve my skills in planning, program management, business strategy and group facilitation. One and a half years into my tenure at Sapient, SIGAL pursued me and I returned to do a complete requirements analysis for and overhaul of their information management systems. I currently live in Washington, DC.
